About Arafat

Arafat Hossain

     Arafat Hossain is a filmmaker, writer and poet from Dhaka, Bangladesh. Basically he is an independent filmmaker. He is very passionate about films, books, philosophy and spirituality. He was born in a very middle class family in Dhaka. He completed his graduation from a reputed public university of Bangladesh. 

     In spite of so many limitations, he makes his films consecutively. He don't have any types of professional film making instruments. However, he has nothing but fantastic knowledge of film making, directing & editing. Nowadays, he is trying to gradually develop his film knowledge by doing some experimental works like 'APNAKEI BOLI', 'COMMODITY', 'BATTLE OF POEM'. His unique storytelling method made himself distinctive from the others. Recently he made his silent short "VACANCY'' with only a simple smartphone. Which has gained a lot of accolades from abroad. 

     Also he has a great interest on writing short stories and poetry too. He love to read mostly fiction, non-fiction, poems, philosophy and spirituality. Recently he is writing many screenplays, magical short stories and poems.
